A culinary experience...
The Middle School and College Students (Years 7 to 12) expressed a desire to learn more about food, its preparation, as well as the skills required to prepare a variety of foods and cuisines. We were privileged to be able to provide an intense and sustained experience for students to engage with food and the skills required to prepare it over a period of 6 months.
The cooking project spanned over an entire semester as part of the Options program for both Middle School and College classes. Students were split into two mixed-age groups. While one group spent the term learning about horse care at Riding for the Disabled in their volunteer training program. the other group began learning about food preparation and cooking skills with our guest chef Kirrilea.
