With the guidance of Elder, Mr Neville Collard, The Yaakin Bidi was created by the Magic Shadow Groovers (Pre-Primary 2020), along with Kobi Morrison, Sara Terry and Cezera Critti-Schnaars as well as the Koorlong team. This project stemmed from a year long look, love and study of the South-western snake-necked turtle a native to Galup (Lake Monger) by the Magic Shadow Groovers (Pre-Primary students 2020). This creative group of students felt a deep sense of connection to this special reptile, witnessing a birth during the year on the boundaries to our school.
Proceeds go to the Koorlong team to assist them in continuing their fantastic work in connecting children to Noongar language and culture.
